Situation
• The earthquakes of 12 May (one of them as strong as 7.3 M) caused more damage and deaths in several areas of Nepal, India and China, including in the areas already affected by the 7.8 M earthquake on 25 April.
• According to first assessments at least 66 people were killed and over a thousand injured with numbers expected to rise in Nepal.
• In India, at least 16 people were killed in Bihar (15) and Uttar Pradesh (1) states, according to media. Another person was also reported killed in China.
• As of 13 May the total death toll stands at 8,219 whereas 17,866 people were injured and 300,000 houses reported destroyed.
• The EU Civil protection team continues to support the main OSOCC in Kathmandu and the humanitarian hubs in Gorkha and Chautara.
